Eine demokratische Tanz- und Video-Recherche für Sichtbarkeit und Teilhabe
Wir setzen den roten Teppich neu in Szene! – unerwartet, konfrontierend, solidarisch.
Demokratie ist kein statisches System, sondern ein fortwährender Prozess – sie wird verhandelt, verändert, bedroht und verteidigt. Am Rande dieser Aushandlungen stehen oft Menschen, die übersehen und vergessen werden. Dem wollen wir entgegenwirken und rollen den roten Teppich aus – ein Symbol für Ruhm, Exklusivität und Anerkennung – und transformieren ihn in neue, unerwartete Kontexte.
Der rote Teppich wird dabei nicht nur als physisches Objekt, sondern als metaphorische Bühne genutzt, die alltägliche Räume der Gesellschaft in neue, theatralische Erlebnisse verwandelt. Liegen auf dem Teppich wird zum Protest, Einrollen zum Schutzraum, und das Schweben darüber spricht von Privilegien und Ignoranz. Er wird zum Symbol der Anerkennung, zum „Claim to Fame“ – einer Plattform, die eine Stimme verleiht und zur Teilnahme einlädt.
Dieses interdisziplinäre Tanz- und Video-Projekt erforscht und diskutiert soziale Utopien, fördert Solidarität und hinterfragt gesellschaftliche Narrative. Durch performative und multimediale Methoden regen wir den Diskurs zu Themen wie sozialer Gerechtigkeit und Inklusion an und hinterfragen die Banalität des Alltags.
Das Projekt gliedert sich in mehrere Phasen. In der zweiten Phase erscheint der rote Teppich an unerwarteten Orten – sowohl an Plätzen, die zum Verweilen einladen, als auch an allgemein zugänglichen Orten, an denen man sich sonst nur wenige Minuten aufhält und die im alltäglichen Leben als vollkommen banal gelten wie Tankstellen, Bushaltestellen oder Schrebergärten.
Die dokumentierten Fotos und Videos werden gesichtet, bearbeitet und die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse schließlich in Form von performativen Elementen, Audio- und Video-Collagen sowie einer Fotoinstallation bei der Abschlusspräsentation Hall of Fame im .dott.werk präsentiert.
Wir laden alle Besucher*innen ein, Teil der Inszenierung bei der Abschlusspräsentation zu werden und Identität sowie Sichtbarkeit erlebbar zu machen.

Unexpected, confrontational, united – We are restaging the red carpet!
Democracy is not a static system but an ongoing process – it is continually negotiated, transformed, threatened, and defended. People who are overlooked and forgotten often find themselves at the margins of these negotiations. We want to counter this effect and roll out the red carpet – a symbol of fame, exclusivity, and recognition – and transform it into new, unexpected contexts.
The red carpet is used not only as a physical object but also as a metaphorical stage, turning everyday spaces of society into new, theatrical experiences. Lying on the carpet becomes protest, rolling it up becomes a shelter, and floating above it speaks of privilege and ignorance. It becomes a symbol of recognition, a “claim to fame“ – a platform that lends a voice and encourages participation.
This interdisciplinary dance and video project explores and discusses social utopias, fosters solidarity, and questions societal narratives. Through performative and multimedia methods, we stimulate discourse on issues such as social injustice and inclusion, while challenging the banality of everyday life.
The project is divided into several phases. During the second phase, the red carpet appears in unexpected places – both in places that invite people to linger and in public spaces where people usually only stay for a few minutes, places considered completely banal in everyday life, such as gas stations, bus stops, or allotment gardens.
The documented photos and videos will be reviewed and edited, after which new-found insights will be translated into performative elements, audio and video collages as well as a photo installation and revealed at the final presentation of Hall of Fame at .dott.werk.
